Silvia Raviola was born in Milan, Italy and first immigrated to the United States with her family at age 6. After returning to Italy for several years, she again immigrated to the United States in 1982. Silvia Raviola has experienced first hand the process and procedures of becoming a permanent resident and a United States citizen, and therefore has a unique insight into what an immigrant can expect at a Consulate or Immigration office.

Silvia Raviola has a Bachelor's Degree (Summa Cum Laude) and Master's Degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, with emphasis on cross-cultural communications. She also has a Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, with specialization in International Law. Silvia has studied and practiced law in London, England; Vienna, Austria; Budapest, Hungary; and Milan, Italy.

Silvia Raviola speaks Italian, Spanish, and French. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the State Bar of California, the Italian American Heritage Foundation (IAHF), and the National Italian American Federation (NIAF).

Silvia Raviola has been an immigration attorney in San Jose, California since 1993. Prior to opening her law practice, she worked with the Italian company Olivetti in Cupertino, California and with the law firm of Dobson & Pinci in Milan, Italy.

Silvia Raviola is also the Honorary Vice Consul of Italy in San Jose, California and a member of the California Consular Corps. She has been recognized in Santa Clara County for her public service and assistance to the Italian government and has received commendations from the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, the City of San Jose, and the State of California Assembly.
